NEWS:

20 June                    The Dragon Passes

Vincentians this week were thrown into shock with the news of the passing of Roy Ralph, "The Dragon". "Draggie", as he was known to many, was one of St. Vincent's premier mas men, and a major influence on many of today's mas designers and builders. On behalf of Blondie Bird and Friends, and De Revellers, we would like to extend sympathies to all of his family and close friends for whom his passing must be so difficult. May The Dragon Rest In Peace.

20 June                    De Revellers HIV / AIDS aware:

De Revellers have teamed up with The Ministry of Torism and the National Aids Secretariat to promote the awareness of HIV/AIDS for Vincy Mas 2008. As part of this program, the section "Party Angels" will be dedicated to the promotion of the theme of "Protect yourself from HIV this carnival", a theme which is important to all locals and visitors for Vincy Mas.

23 May:                    Traffic Blocking:

The Chamber carpark was the venue for the Traffic Block party on Mothers Day. The crowd was entertained by the sounds of DJ Jude the Cool Dude and HS Phaktor, featuring Shaunelle and Bomani.

26 March:                    Car Park Party:

Despite the fact that many persons were tired from the Jah Cure Show the night before, a fair crowd turned out to enjoy the evening. Check out Blondie with one of his Satellite costumes on display.

13 March:                    Car Park Party:

In an effort to continue to raise funds, Blondie Bird and Friends will be having a carnival party at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Carpark on Sunday 16 March. Music will be by Two Kool Chris and the bar will ice cold. Come and see what our costumes will look like this year!

2 March:                      Barbecue:

The band held a fund raising barbecue on Back Street opposite Heritage Square on Friday 29 February. Things started out a bit slowly, but by the end of the evening, Garth and Blondie were in ripping form, and not even the sprinkles from heaven could have dampened the enjoyment of the event. Keep posted for the next event!

11 February:             Band Launching:

The band launching was held at the Chamber of Commerce Carpark in Kingstown on Sunday 10th February. The costumes received high praise from many of the visitors to the venue, and with the music flowing from Two Kool Chris, and the bar doing a swinging trade, it was disappointing when the fete was brought to a close at 11:15 p.m. Blondie has vowed that we will go back and do it again, since the first installment turned out to be such a pleasurable event.
